Terrence A. Thomas is the EVP & Chief Information Officer at First Bank (FBNC), where he is responsible for the Information Technology, Information Security, Business Continuity Planning, Project Management, and Data Management teams, and leads strategic projects for the bank to ensure continued safety, soundness, and innovation for First Bank customers, employees, and shareholders.  Prior to joining First Bank, Terrence spent 23 years working across the telecommunications, media & entertainment (M&E), and financial services business verticals, most recently at Goldman Sachs as VP of Workplace Engineering, focused on Architecture & Strategy.  He sits on the Client Advisory Board for Spectrum and is a member of Zoom’s Financial Services Industry Council.   

He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Mississippi, as well as an MSc in Telecommunications Management, an MBA in Technology Management, and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
