Steve Hagerman is the Chief Technology Officer for Wells Fargo Technology, leading an organization dedicated to delivering predictable, prioritized, yet prescriptive services for our customers, the CIO Teams. He reports directly to head of Wells Fargo Technology, Saul Van Beurden and is a Wells Fargo Technology Fellow.
The Chief Technology Office (CTO) optimizes the engineering experience, as well as enables agile product development. CTO works to connect enterprise architecture through to product architecture, and to drive an API Banking Strategy supported by scaled platforms.
Prior to his current role, Steve was Wells Fargo’s Chief Information Officer and head of Consumer Lending Technology (CLT). He was responsible for providing solutions that will support new and emerging technology platforms allowing the lines of business to evolve and grow their product sets. He also has defined the strategic roadmap for the future development of all Consumer Lending applications
Steve joined Wells Fargo in August 2019, from JPMorgan Chase, where he was Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Managing Director, and head of Home Lending Originations Technology. In that role, he was responsible for the delivery of the First Mortgage, Home Equity, and Correspondent lending platforms.
Over his more than 17-year career at JPMorgan, Steve held a number of senior leadership positions in technology, including CTO of Customer Service Operations, CTO of Consumer & Community Banking, and head of Consumer Branch and ATM Infrastructure. Steve also was one of JPMorgan’s Distinguished Engineers, recognized for technical excellence in support of Branch & ATM, transaction performance monitoring, and infrastructure development. His expertise encompasses microservice architecture and cloud development.
Prior to joining JPMorgan, Steve held positions at Bank One, Vobix Corp., and Lexis-Nexis. He also served in the United States Marine Corps for five years.
