Atul Verma joined BMO Financial Group in 2020 as Chief Information Officer, U.S. Personal and Business Banking. In this role, Atul leads a high-performing team responsible for delivering technology solutions for market-leading products and services for BMO’s customers. Atul and his team help achieve the business’ strategic objectives through a customer-centric approach driven by innovation and agility.
With over 24 years of technology leadership experience, Atul brings a proven track record of driving transformations and leading global technology teams at top tier financial services firms. He has led programs to modernize core banking applications, build strategic architecture roadmaps and optimize IT operations through efficiency and modernization initiatives. Atul’s teams have been recognized for execution excellence and collaborative partnerships with business and industry leaders.
Prior to joining BMO, Atul was a Senior Executive Partner with Gartner Inc. where he provided advisory services and thought leadership to CIOs within Fortune 500 companies. As a strategic advisor, Atul equipped leaders with the tools, expertise and insights required to deliver exceptional business results, achieve customer-focused priorities and develop themselves as successful technology influencers.
Atul is an engineer by training and holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, India. He is well-versed in the areas of leadership development, strategic planning, technology transformation management, software delivery and application portfolio management.
