Bess Healy is SVP, Chief Technology Officer for Synchrony. She is responsible for key IT functions including data architecture and analysis, business intelligence, technology service delivery, technology engineering, ECE Engagement & Execution, AI & Digital Workforce and Technology Operations as well as end user services and collaboration.
Bess joined General Electric as a Six Sigma Blackbelt in 2001. She held various roles of increasing responsibility and leadership in technology, commercial, and operations functions. Most recently she served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Transformation in Enterprise Operations. Previously she was the General Manager of Synchrony’s Walmart portfolio. Most of her career has been in technology. She held various roles including responsibility for the technology strategy and program leadership for enterprise operations, including digital and traditional customer service, collections, fraud, and facilities, as senior vice president, customer systems and strategic initiatives. She was also instrumental in building the technology infrastructure required for Synchrony’s separation from the General Electric company in 2014.
Prior to joining GE, Bess served in the United States Army for seven years as an Officer in the Adjutant General’s Corps in the US and Germany. In these roles, Bess was commended for superior personnel and administrative support for 11 deployments in six months, including Bosnia, Kosovo, and Hurricane Mitch Relief in Central America. Previously Bess led the institution of Total Quality Management into her local Military Community, enabling them to receive US Army Malcolm Baldridge Quality awards for two consecutive years.
Bess attended the United States Military Academy at West Point where she earned a B.S. in Environmental Engineering in 1994.
